Grassfield Indoor Percussion
​ABOUT
The Grassfield percussion program has quickly turned into one of the top percussion ensembles in not only the state of Virginia, but the country! 
The Grassfield Indoor Percussion competes regionally in the Atlantic Indoor Association (AIA) circuit & globally in the Winter Guard International (WGI) circuit.  The Grassfield Indoor Percussion program is open to all students enrolled in a Performing Arts class, with auditions being held in November of each year.

2024-2025 INDOOR PERCUSSION STAFF
Mr. Luke Walker:  Program Director
Mr. Walker is the Associate Director of Bands at Grassfield High School.  Mr. Walker has directed numerous Winter Percussion ensembles, earning 5 AIA Gold Medals, 4 WGI Regional Championships, 1 WGI Power Regional Championship, 1 Bronze at WGI World Percussion Championships, & 1 Gold at WGI World Percussion Championships.

Mr. Paul Lehman:  Assistant Director
Mr. Lehman joined the Grassfield Percussion Staff in 2022, working with both the Marching Grizzlies & the Winter Percussion.  Mr. Lehman is a proud graduate of James Madison University, earning his BM in Music Education in 2022.  Mr. Lehman has experience as a performer in the AIA/WGI circuits as well as experience as an instructor in both circuits.  Mr. Lehman also performed with the Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps (DCI) during the 2021 season.

Mr. Wyatt Voshall:  Associate Instructor - Mallet Percussion
Mr. Voshall joined the Grassfield Percussion Staff in 2022, working with both the Marching Grizzlies & the Winter Percussion.  Mr. Voshall is currently pursuing his degree in Sound Recording Technology.  Mr. Voshall has experience as a performer in the AIA/WGI  circuits as well as experience as an instructor in both circuits.  Mr. Voshall also performed with George Mason University Indoor Drumline (WGI) for the 2022-2023 & 2024-2025 seasons.


Mr. Aidan Plude:  Associate Instructor - Auxiliary Percussion
Mr. Plude joined the Grassfield Percussion Staff in 2024, working with both the Marching Grizzlies & the Indoor Percussion.    Mr. Plude has experience as a performer in the AIA circuit & in the DCI circuit with the Vanguard Cadets & Jersey Surf.

Show Title:  Atomic
Show Info:  "Atomic" tells the story of mankind's journey from the hopeful discovery of atomic energy to the devastating consequences of its use. The show begins with a sense of wonder as scientists unlock the potential of the atom, driven by ambition and excitement. As the first atomic test approaches, tension builds, leading to a chaotic and destructive climax where the bomb is detonated, unleashing unimaginable power. In the aftermath, regret and sorrow take hold as humanity is left to face the irreversible consequences, with a world forever changed by its own creation.

Show Title:  "Shifting Sands:  The Music of Dune"
Show Info:
