Grassfield Color Guard and Winter Guard
Marching Grizzlies Color Guard
The award winning Grassfield Color Guard is an essential part of the Grassfield Marching Grizzlies.
They help add flash and color to the Marching Show! Depending on the show design, the color guard spins flags, rifles, and/or sabers!
The Grassfield Color Guard performs during football games at halftime and at competitions. During football season, the color guard is an integral part of the marching design, color palette, and musical interpretation of the show. During competitions, the guard adds to the overall score of the band; however, the judges also give an individual score to the color guard for a category usually called auxiliary.
They also incorporate lyrical dance moves in between the use of their equipment.
The guard uses props and equipment, along with movement, to express dynamic passages in the music accompanying the marching band show.
The Grassfield Color Guard consists of high school students who benefit from being in a world-class organization and have the opportunity to work with some of the best professional color guard instructors.

Winter Guard
The Grassfield Winter Guard is another facet of the color guard experience!
The Winter Guard season runs from the tryouts in November through April.
The Grassfield Guard is known for being ranked 17th in the world in their WGI class.
They compete in both the local AIA (Atlantic Indoor Assoc) circuit and the WGI (World Guard International) circuit.
